Question 1

What is Garden Design App?

Accepted Answer

Garden Design App is an online tool that turns a photo of your garden into a photorealistic redesign, and then into a real planting plan. You upload a photo, choose a style, and get back an image of your garden replanted. When you love a design, the planting plan names every UK plant, how big each grows and where each goes, so you can actually create it.

Question 2

How does the AI garden design work?

Accepted Answer

Upload a photo of your garden or a single border, and tell us what you'd like: refresh your borders, keeping your garden's shape, or redesign the whole space with new layout, paths and planting. Pick a style, and we generate a photorealistic redesign of your actual garden. When you love one, unlock its planting plan – every plant, how big each grows, and where each goes.

Question 3

Are the plants real – can I actually buy and plant them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every design can become a planting plan of real, available UK plants, with each plant's mature height and spread, where it goes and a month-by-month flowering guide. The plans are built on real horticultural data and shaped by a professional gardener – not generic AI guesses – so the garden in the picture is a garden you can genuinely plant.

Question 4

What garden styles can I choose from?

Accepted Answer

Fifteen: cottage, modern architectural, pollinator-friendly, Mediterranean gravel, evergreen structure, prairie grasses and drifts, woodland shade, Japanese-inspired, low maintenance, formal and clipped, tropical jungle, wildflower meadow, drought-tolerant, courtyard and small space. You can also describe the look you're after in your own words – say, something low-maintenance for a shady, north-facing garden – and the design follows your brief.

Question 5

Do I need a special photo or camera?

Accepted Answer

No – a normal phone photo is perfect. Photograph your whole garden if it's small and simple, or one border at a time for larger or more complex gardens, where each bed has its own light and soil.

Question 6

Why does my redesign look like high summer?

Accepted Answer

We render your garden at its peak, in full flower, so you can see how lush and full it can look. It's an artist's impression, and your real garden will change through the seasons. The planting plan that comes with it includes a month-by-month flowering calendar and plants chosen for year-round interest, so there's colour and structure well beyond the summer picture.

Question 7

Is it really free, and what does it cost after?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your first 3 garden designs are free, straight away. Free designs carry a small watermark. Pro is £29 and Max £49, each one payment that covers your whole project, and every design you make with either comes with every plant named, plus a clean, higher quality image that is yours to keep. Pro makes two designs at once, Max four.

Question 8

What do Pro and Max include?

Accepted Answer

Pro and Max are each one payment that covers your whole project. Pro is £29 for 14 days, 20 designs and two at once; Max is £49 for 30 days, 50 designs and four at once. Both name every plant in every design you make, with a professional planting plan for every measured border, give you clean, higher quality images that are yours to keep, and come with free designs of your garden on top: 5 with Pro, 10 with Max, in the styles you choose.

Question 9

Can I change or extend Pro or Max?

Accepted Answer

Pro and Max are each one payment for a fixed number of days, so there is no plan to move up or down. If you want longer or more designs, get Pro or Max again whenever you like. Everything you have already made stays in your account for good.

Question 10

What happens if I use up my designs?

Accepted Answer

Your designs and every planting plan you have taken stay yours for good. To keep designing, get Pro or Max again, or use whatever is left of your free designs.

Question 11

Is there anything to cancel?

Accepted Answer

No. Pro and Max are each a single payment for a fixed number of days, so nothing recurs and there is nothing to cancel. When the days are up, your account simply goes back to free, with whatever is left of your free designs, and everything you made stays yours.

Question 12

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

Because each design and planting plan is generated for you on demand, the work is done and the cost incurred the moment you create it, so purchases aren't refundable. Pro and Max are each a single payment with nothing recurring, and with your first 3 designs free you can see exactly what you're getting before you pay.

Question 13

Where do I find my planting plan and PDF?

Accepted Answer

As soon as you buy a planting plan we email it to you, with the plan attached as a PDF and a link to view it online. You can also open it any time from your dashboard, where it's saved against that garden. If it's not in your inbox, give it a minute and check your spam folder.

Question 14

Who's behind it?

Accepted Answer

It's built by Josh Hellicar, a professional gardener, combining real horticultural knowledge with AI image generation. The aim is simple: garden design that looks beautiful and is genuinely plantable – something the generic AI tools don't do.
