The work a garden designer does, from a photo

Hiring a garden designer means a visit, a wait, and often a bill of well over £1,000. Most of what you are paying for is judgement: what to plant, where it goes, how to grade the heights, how to keep colour through the seasons. That judgement is exactly what this gives you – a garden designer in your pocket, working from a photo of your own garden.

You upload a picture, mark your beds, choose a style, and get a photorealistic redesign of your space in about two minutes: structure at the back, a full middle of colour, softness at the front, and your fences, paths and mature trees kept just as they are.

When you find a design you love, the full planting plan is a one-off £39: every plant named, how many to buy, how big each grows, where it goes, a month-by-month flowering calendar and care notes – the kind of document a garden designer would charge many times that to produce.

Questions

Good to know.

Everything people ask about the garden designer.

How does the AI garden design work?

Upload a photo of your garden or a single border, and tell us what you'd like: refresh your borders, keeping your garden's shape, or redesign the whole space with new layout, paths and planting. Pick a style, and we generate a photorealistic redesign of your actual garden. When you love one, unlock its planting plan – every plant, how many to buy, and where each goes.

Are the plants real – can I actually buy and plant them?

Yes. Every design can become a planting plan of real, available UK plants, with quantities, each plant's mature height and spread, where it goes and a month-by-month flowering guide. The plans are built on real horticultural data and shaped by a professional gardener – not generic AI guesses – so the garden in the picture is a garden you can genuinely plant.

Do I need a special photo or camera?

No – a normal phone photo is perfect. Photograph your whole garden if it's small and simple, or one border at a time for larger or more complex gardens, where each bed has its own light and soil.

Is the first design really free, and what does it cost after?

Your first design is genuinely free, with no card required. After that, subscriptions start at £19 a month. The professional planting plan is a separate one-off you only buy if you want to make a design real.

Is this as good as hiring a garden designer?

It gives you the same core of what a garden designer does – a considered, photorealistic redesign of your space and a proper planting plan of real plants, built on professional design rules. A designer will visit in person and handle hard landscaping like paving and walls; this focuses on beautiful ornamental planting, from a photo, for a tiny fraction of the cost.

How much does a garden designer usually cost?

A professional garden design and planting plan often runs to well over £1,000. Here your first design is free, more designs come with a subscription from £19 a month, and the full planting plan is a one-off £39.

Does it do hard landscaping like patios and walls?

No – it designs the planting: beautiful, real, ornamental plants arranged for your space, and a plan to buy and place them. Your existing paths, patios and structures are kept as they are in the design.
